Purpose of W.A.V.E.

The purpose of teens With A Vision for Eternity is to SHARE Christ, to HELP those who are in need with LOVE, to have FUN in the Lord's name, to TRAIN other's in their desire to be like Christ, and to PRAISE the name of God in everything that we do.

We as a youth ministry have activities weekly, monthly and yearly to fulfil our purpose to bring honour and glory to God.

Our Leaders of Today are involved in different ministries of the Church.

Many say "teens are the leaders of tomorrow", but at FBC we believe that teens are the Leaders of Today.

Bible Study & Worship

As a teen goes through life they are faced with many temptations and decisions that will effect the rest of their lives. It is our duty and privilege to teach them how to use God's word as a road map that will direct them through daily life.

Sunday Morning: Bible Study
- 9:30 am, Consists of an Ice-Breaker, music and a study of the word of God.

Sunday Evening: Training Time
- 5:00 pm, This is the time of in depth study on how to be a disciple of Christ.

Sunday Night: L.I.F.E. Night
- 7:00 pm, "Living in Faith and Evangelism" During this time we play games, sing praise unto God and have a lesson from the word of God.

Wednesday Night: Catch a W.A.V.E.
- 7:00 pm, "teens With A Vision of Eternity" During this time we play games, sing praise unto God and have a lesson from the word of God.

Activities

We at the First Baptist Church feel that it is important to enjoy life as a Christian.

Our activities are weekly and one Big Adventure a month. The activities consist of paint balling, mall hopping, rock climbing, bowling, staying at the Church, playing games, and eating snacks. We also like to just hang out, and play video games. There is a yearly scavenger hunt, "that was one of the best times of my life" quoting one teen. There are times we can attend a youth rally in our area.

There is not a scripture in the entire Bible that says having fun is a sin.

Camps

One of our favourite times of the year is camp. Every summer and winter we take a few days and go to camp. This is so teens can get away from the world and spend time with God and friends.

At our camps there are singing, preaching, and sporting competitions. There are times to go swimming or just hang out with your friends.

It is a place that we enjoy and know that you will want to go back to for the rest of your life.
